Fixed-Price Cloud Security Consulting: How Our Quotes Work
Fixed-price cloud security consulting for AWS and Azure: one written quote, approved by you before we start, with no hourly billing and no scope creep.
Fixed-price cloud security consulting should be easy to understand. You should know what you are buying, how long it takes and what it costs before you commit, and you should never receive a surprise invoice. This page explains how we scope and quote AWS and Azure security work, and what moves the final number.
Our fixed-price cloud security consulting engagements
| Engagement | Timeline | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | About 5 business days | One AWS account or one Azure subscription (with the Entra ID tenant review), CIS benchmark review, severity-ranked report, walkthrough call |
| Standard | About 10 business days | Up to five AWS accounts or Azure subscriptions, including AWS Organizations or management group governance, centralised logging review and compliance mapping |
| Cloud penetration test | 10 to 15 business days after scoping | Authorised attack simulation against an agreed AWS or Azure scope: IAM privilege escalation, exposed storage, segmentation, severity-ranked report with proof |
Timelines are typical and are stated in your written quote. The price for each is a single fixed figure we agree with you after the scoping call.
What every fixed-price engagement includes
- Free 20-minute scoping call before you commit
- Written fixed-price quote approved before work starts
- Read-only access only for audits and assessments
- Report with findings ranked by severity
- Exact remediation steps for every finding
- Walkthrough call with the engineer who did the work
- NDA on request
- Remote delivery with real time-zone overlap
Why we do not publish a price list
Fixed-price cloud security consulting only works if the price reflects the real scope, and scope varies a lot. A company with one AWS account and a small team needs a very different engagement from one with twelve accounts, three Kubernetes clusters and a SOC 2 deadline. A single published number would be wrong for most buyers: too high for the small, too low for the large. So we ask a few questions first, then give you one number that is right for your environment.
How the fixed-price quote works
After the free scoping call we send a written quote that lists the scope, the deliverables, the timeline and the price. You approve it and we start. If the scope changes, because you add an account for example, we send an updated quote and wait for your approval before doing the extra work. There are no hourly meters running, no surprise invoices and no scope creep. That is what fixed-price cloud security consulting means to us.
What changes the price
Scope is the only thing that moves the price. The number of AWS accounts or Azure subscriptions, the number of regions in active use, how many workloads such as Kubernetes clusters and serverless functions are in scope, and whether you need findings mapped to a framework like SOC 2 or ISO 27001. We confirm all of these on the scoping call. If we later find more issues than we expected, the price does not change.
How our AWS and Azure engagements are priced
The AWS security audit and the Azure security assessment use the same structure, because the effort is comparable. Essential covers one AWS account or one Azure subscription. Standard covers up to five, and adds the organisation-level review: AWS Organizations and service control policies on AWS, management groups and Azure Policy on Azure. Running both clouds is common, and we quote it as one engagement so you are not paying for two kick-offs.
What is not included
Fixing the findings is not part of an audit quote. The report is written so your team can implement every fix itself. If you would rather we do it, we scope remediation as its own piece of fixed-price cloud security consulting after you have read the report, so you decide with full information. A re-test after you have fixed the findings is also quoted separately. A full Microsoft 365 workload review is out of scope for the Azure assessment.
Fixed-price cloud security consulting versus hourly billing
Hourly billing puts the risk on you: you pay for however long the work takes, and the person quoting has no reason to be efficient. Under fixed-price cloud security consulting the risk is ours. We scope carefully, because we carry the cost if we get it wrong, and you know the maximum you will pay before you start. For security reviews, where the amount of work is bounded by the size of your environment, fixed pricing is almost always the better deal for the buyer.
What the market charges
If you want to compare, we collected published price ranges for AWS audits, Azure assessments and cloud penetration tests, each linked to its source and the date we checked it, in how much an AWS security audit costs in 2026. Scope differs between vendors, so compare what is included, not only the number. Ask any vendor, including us, which accounts are in scope, which benchmark is used, who does the work and what the report contains.
Which engagement should you choose
Choose Essential if you have one production AWS account or one Azure subscription and want a clear picture quickly, for instance before a customer security review. Choose Standard if you run several accounts, an AWS Organization or management groups, or you are preparing for SOC 2 or ISO 27001 and need governance and logging covered. Add the cloud penetration test after you have fixed the audit findings, so the test is spent on what remains rather than on known misconfigurations. If you are unsure, book the free assessment and we will tell you honestly which fits, including when the smallest one is enough.

Frequently asked questions
How does fixed-price cloud security consulting work?
You book a free 20-minute scoping call. We then send one written quote with the scope, deliverables, timeline and price. You approve it before any work starts, and the price does not change if we find more than expected.
Why don't you publish prices?
Because the right price depends on scope: the number of accounts or subscriptions, regions, workloads and any compliance mapping. A single published number would be wrong for most buyers, so we give each client one fixed figure after a short call.
Can the price go up after you start?
Not for the agreed scope. If we find more issues than expected, the price stays the same. It changes only if you ask us to add accounts, subscriptions or services, and you approve an updated quote in writing first.
Do you charge for the first call?
No. The 20-minute scoping call is free and carries no obligation. It is where we agree scope and confirm the fixed price.
What does a quote include?
The audit or assessment itself, a severity-ranked report with exact fixes, mapping to CIS controls, and a walkthrough call with the engineer who did the work. Fixing the findings and re-testing are quoted separately.
Do you offer ongoing monthly support?
Yes, through our managed cloud services, which are quoted separately. See the managed cloud services page and our guide to managed IT services pricing models.
Which currency and payment terms do you use?
Quotes are in US dollars unless we agree otherwise. Payment terms are written into the quote, so you know them before you approve it.
